Lungelwa Kaywood
Senior Researcher
Currently employed as a Senior Researcher at SALGA, Lungelwa Kaywood’s research interests lie in the areas of public sector management, municipal finance, intergovernmental relations, law and development. With over 19 years of experience from the public sector, she possesses strong municipal finance knowledge, understanding of the relevant & applicable legislation to local government. She has worked for various Provincial Treasury Departments, the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development and lastly the Department of Health. Kaywood has a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management with the University of Chile, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Stellenbosch. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Walter Sisulu University of Technology. She also took various short courses at the University of Pretoria on Public Sector Monitoring & Evaluation as well as Fiscal Decentralisation.
